Mr. James Barry Jenkins, age 73 of Franklin, KY, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at his residence.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory and will continue on Saturday, July 13, from 6:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Simpson County, KY.
Barry was born on April 8, 1951 in Franklin, KY to the late Junior B Jenkins and the late Virgie (Johns) Jenkins. He is also preceded in death by his son, Jim Jenkins.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rebecca Jenkins of Franklin, KY; one son, Kyle Jenkins (Ashley) of Franklin, KY; four grandchildren, Preston (Jolee), Braxton, Nevaeh and Easton; and one brother, Phillip Jenkins of Scottsville, KY.
Barry was a graduate of Allen County High school class of 1969 and was a retired laborer of 33 years of Weyerhaeuser. He collected hot wheels, enjoyed watching Kentucky college sports, and attending all of his grandkid’s sports games.
