James "Jim" Jeray, age 77, passed away November 14, 2025 in Clarksville, TN. Jim was born in Cleveland, OH on December 18, 1947 to William Jeray and Helen Jeray (Snyder). Jim spent most of his life in northeast, OH and resided in Perry, OH before moving to Clarksville,TN in 2020. Jim was a machinist for Slabe Machine Products Co. for 30 years before retiring. Jim also served in the United States Army for a brief period.
Jim was always the first to help anytime something needed fixed. From home repair to woodworking to mechanics, Jim was a true "do it yourself" guy. Aside from handy work, Jim was a loyal fan to the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Guardians (Indians). Jim treasured all the times and memories he was able to spend with his grandson, Calder, more than anything.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his siblings Linda Walsh, William Jeray, and Dennis Jeray. His brother in law, Kevin Walsh and his nephew, Eddie. Jim is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Matthew) Rattray; grandson, Calder Rattray; sisters-in-law, Pat and Donna Jeray; and former spouse, Diane Jeray and her son, Joshua Sweetapple.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
