Mr. James 'Jim' Herbert Croft, Sr., of Winder, Georgia, formerly of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Jim was born on Thursday, September 29, 1938, in Sale City, Mitchell County, Georgia, to the late Mr. Willis Raymond Croft and the late Mrs. Linnie Jewell Carroll Croft.

Jim was a 1956 graduate of Sale City High School. He went on to have a long and successful career in the flooring industry, working for Beaulieu Fibers in Dalton, Georgia, and Hercules, Inc., in both Covington and Calhoun, Georgia.

Jim was a dedicated family man. He loved fishing, quail hunting, softball, baseball, and basketball. He also loved watching the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. As a man of faith, he was a member of New Echota Methodist Church in Calhoun, Georgia, where he enjoyed participating in and staying in active in various Bible studies through the years. Jim will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Willis Raymond and Linnie Jewell, Jim is preceded in death by his 2 sisters and his 3 brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Burkett Croft, whom he married on Thursday, May 25, 2000, and with whom he enjoyed 25 wonderful years together.

Jim is further survived by his sons, Joseph A. (Susan) Croft and James H. (Leslie) Croft, Jr.; his step-children, Norman Alexander Burkett and Allison Burkett Broxton; his six grandchildren, Brett Croft, Rebecca Hopkins, Marissa Ceci, Tanner Croft, Emily Dias, and Winston Broxton; and his six great-grandchildren, Payton Belmore, Joey Croft, Jackson Croft, David Ceci, John Amos Hopkins, Andy Ceci, Sullivan Croft, and Iris Hopkins.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Jim's life will be conducted on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Linch officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
