Mr. James "Jim" Frederick Earl, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at McLaren Hospital in Flint, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on September 7, 1950, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to parents Ray & Gladys (Crisp) Earl. He was raised alongside his siblings and graduated from Pickford High School with the Class of 1968. Jim met the former Edna Edmonds. The two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on September 30, 1978. Together they celebrated over 45 years of marriage. Jim retired from General Motors out of the Flint Engine Plant as a heavy repairman. He was a passionate outdoorsman and was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. He enjoyed woodworking, working on engines, and traveling around the United States and Canada. Above all, Jim loved his family and will be deeply missed by them.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Edna; children, Tammi (Gordon) Laplow, and Gladys Heather (Neil) Cunningham; grandchildren: Gabriella, Richard, Isabel, and Katelyn; great-grandchild, GirAnneliese; as well as a nephew, many cousins, aunts, extended family, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenny Earl; sisters, Cynthia Manville, and Renee Vann; as well as grandparents and uncles.
Jim's family will receive visitors for a memorial gathering at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024. Guests are asked to bring a memory and/or a photo to share with Jim's family as a keepsake.
A Celebration of Jim's life will be held at the Raber Township Hall from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Humane Society.
