James “Jim” Lee Hinkle, 85, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025. Born on May 27, 1939, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jim lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to his family. Jim was married to the love of his life, Cleta (Greenwood) Hinkle on December 18, 1956, and together, shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family centered on love, faith, and cherished memories. A man of many passions, Jim found joy in golf, boating, and fishing, savoring the peaceful moments these activities brought. He deeply valued reading and studying God’s Word, allowing it to guide his life and strengthen his faith. He was also a devoted Arkansas Razorback fan, cheering on his beloved team through every season. Above all, Jim treasured his family. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever. His kind spirit, unwavering faith, and infectious love for life left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jim’s legacy of love, faith, and family will be carried on by those he leaves behind. While his earthly journey has ended, his heavenly one has begun, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his wife, Cleta Hinkle of the home; sons, Steve Hinkle and wife Pam of Nashville, TN, and Mike Hinkle and wife Karen of Afton, OK; daughter, Sheri Regan and husband Cord of Pryor, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Cleo Hinkle; sister, Cynthia Hinkle; and granddaughter, Kristi Blish.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Burial will follow in the Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2025 at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor.
