James Kinstle Obituary

James Eugene Kinstle, 93, of Delphos, OH, passed away on November 29, 2025, at the Wapakoneta Manor. He was born in Shelby County on October 20, 1932, to Clarence and Alvena (Kaeler) Kinstle. On September 5, 1964, he married Susan C. Place who preceded him in death on January 22, 2015. Since then, he has been in the care of his niece, Jo Ann Mercer Mizek.
Jim was the oldest of eight children. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dale, Tom, Shirley, David, Nancy, and Steve. He is survived by the youngest, Dan and several nieces and nephews.
During 1952-1954, Jim served as a PFC in the Army during the Korean War in Germany as a driver of a 155 Army Tank. After that, Jim worked for the B&O Railroad for 18 years, Clark Equipment for 18 years, followed by Sugar Creek Farms and Lakeview Farms. After retirement, he opened his woodworking shop making beautiful shelves, quilt racks, and many other wooden pieces along with maintaining a huge garden yearly.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at the Ft. Amanda Cemetery, Logan Twp. Auglaize Co., where military rites will be conducted. Memorial contributions may be directed to the V.F.W. Post #8445, Wapakoneta. Arrangements are under the direction of the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, Wapakoneta., where condolences may be expressed at www.eleyfuneralhomeandcrematory.com.
