James Ladd (known to many friends and family as Jim or Jimmy Ladd) was born in Pinedale, California, on June 30, 1947. Jim passed away in Clovis, California on May 14, 2025, at the age of 77. Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charles and Lorene Ladd, his brothers John Ladd, Howard Ladd, Kenneth Ladd, Gary Ladd and Ronald Ladd, and sisters, Betty Chrest, Barbara Bradford, Carol Norton, and Donna Berg. Jim is survived by his wife, Linda Ladd, with whom he was married for over 56 years; his son, Aaron Ladd and his wife, Amy; his daughter Penny Burnham, and her husband Zachary; and his grandchildren, Emily Ladd and Jonah Burnham. Jim also leaves behind nieces and nephews, cousins, a sister-in-law, and many friends. Jim graduated from Clovis High in 1966. After that he enlisted in the army. He was proud to be a paratrooper and Vietnam combat veteran. He worked for Modern Welding Company in Fresno, California, and retired after working there for over 30 years. He enjoyed helping other veterans advocate for their benefits. He also spent many years volunteering with Disabled Veterans of America and leading up their deep-sea fishing trips for blind and disabled veterans. In later years, he and Linda enjoyed being a part of the Lucky Ones RV club. Jim loved working around his country property and was always happy to share eggs from his chickens or fruit from his trees. Jim loved his family and his friends wholeheartedly. He was always ready to share a hug and a joke. He was loved by many, and he will be sorely missed.
