James Larimore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel on Feb. 27, 2026.
MANSFIELD: James Edward Larimore, 88, passed away unexpectedly on February 25, 2026. He was born to Cora and Joseph Larimore on August 20, 1937. James, "Jim", was born into a big farm family on Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield, Ohio. With eight sisters and one brother, he grew up with a milk bucket in one hand and a pitchfork in the other.

On July 1, 1958, Jim married the love of his life, Judy Grogg. The two of them built a family with three daughters; Shelly Rinehart, Roxane (Christine Jones) Larimore, and Heidi (Daniel) Fry. Jim and Judy shared 65 beautiful years together. He took such loving care of Judy until she passed in January of 2024.

During their years together their family grew rich with grandchildren! Lots of grandchildren who gave them even more grandchildren! Their hearts were always open and happy for the little blessings. They even called other kids in their lives their grandchildren. Jim especially loved the little ones. He had such a special place in his heart for them.

Jim had a long hardworking career of being the MVP of every company he worked for; Sohio, Borg Warner, Ohio Brass, Stone Container, Shaffer Valve, Artesian, and retired from Crane Plumbing. He was the fix it guy, if he couldn't fix it, they'd shut it down. He was always on call even after he retired.

The true happiness for Jim was his family, friends, neighbors, and people he had just met. He loved to share time with everyone. His laughter was always a part of every conversation. But most of all he loved to listen and share stories with everyone. He was and always will be the kindest man you could ever meet.

Jim is also survived by his siblings Charles Larimore, Arlene Staats, and Sharon Bellino. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents Cora and Joseph Larimore, and sisters Margaret Isley, Wanda Adams, Dorothy Bonin, Ruby Opal Dall, Joyce Wendland, and Anna Snyder.

Friends may call from 10 am to noon on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel, where a funeral will be held immediately after with Pastor Jack Kegley officiating. Burial to follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Washington Township Fire and EMS.

Snyder Funeral Homes is honored to serve Jim's family and encourage you to share a fond memory or message of condolence on his obituary page at www.SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
