James Joseph Lass, 89 years old, Howard WI Passed away on August 31, 2025 surrounded by loved ones after a warrior's battle with cancer. Born in Milwaukee WI March 2, 1936 to Pauline Lass (Krzesinski) and Walter John Lass. He attended Messmer High School in Milwaukee and excelled in basketball, baseball and track. James went on to attend Marquette University seeking and earning a BA in sociology. He was drafted into the army and proudly served his country from August of 1958 to April of 1966. After graduating from Marquette University, James met and married Dolores Fumo and had four children, Bob, Jim, Mary Lee and Michelle.

Moving to Green Bay, he took a job with the Green Bay School district and taught middle school math and science until his retirement in 1998. James was a devoted husband and loving father. He was known for his sharp wit, quiet strength, and love for his country. He found joy in being with his family, spoiling his pets, and spending summers at his Hayward cabin on Moose Lake fishing. He was also a talented musician who played the guitar, banjo, ukulele harmonica, and piano.

James will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Dolores Lass, children James Lass Jr., Mary Lee Lass, Michelle Lass, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Walter and Pauline Lass, his older brother Robert Lass, and his eldest son Robert James Lass.
