James Lawson Obituary
James Walton Lawson, age 79, of Munfordville, KY, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at his home. He was a retired Command Master Chief serving 20 years in the US Navy, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Wesconett Lodge #297 in Jacksonville, FL, a member of Valley of Boston Scottish Rite Bodies, Fleet Reserve Association Branch 91, the American Legion Post #0376 in Ohio, and he was a Kentucky Colonel.
He is the son of the late Gordon Wilson Lawson and the late Emma Lee Wells Lawson.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Mayme Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris Harwell Lawson, Munfordville, KY; three children, Shannon Luker (Jimmy Brannen), Hardeeville, FL, Gordon Ray Lawson (Renee), Melbourne, FL, and Amy Gardner (J.D.), Magnolia, KY; five grandchildren, Raymond, Amanda, Jye, Abigai , and Johnathan; four great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild also survive.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 -8:00 PM CT on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 PM during visitation. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 AM CT on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Brook Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Harkness and Chaplain Mark Hale officiating. A commital service will be held at 11:30 AM CT at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Burial will follow there.
