James Curtis Lee, born on November 14, 1959, to Curtis and Vondell Sands Lee, passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Butler on January 29, 2026.
After graduating from Union County High School, James began his career as a correctional officer with the Department of Corrections. His diligence and commitment to his role were commendable, but after several years, he made the decision to pursue his true passion for carpentry full-time. This choice reflected his dedication to craftsmanship and the value he placed on creating and building.
James took great pride in his family, which was the cornerstone of his existence. He is survived by his children, Justin (Tarah), James, Rachel, Sandra (Chris), Debbie, and Laura. His legacy continues through his grandchildren; Levi, David, Mercedes, Renee, Curtis, Johnny, and Tommy, as well as his great-grandchildren, Miranda and Carson. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Patrick Lee.
James cherished the time he spent with his family, enjoying simple pleasures such as fishing and watching Florida Gator Football. His warmth, strength, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As we reflect on his life, we celebrate the values he instilled in his loved ones, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
