I had Jim for an English teacher my junior year at Hinsdale Central. He was one to my favorite teachers. He also knew my Mother, Nancy Denekas who taught at Hinsdale Central. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Lindon was my English teacher in 1973/1974, and was one of the best teachers I had. He taught me how to think, and I wanted to do well because of him. I remember his impressive mustache, his three-piece suits, and his use of the word "underscore" rather than "underline." He led us through Steinbeck's _The Grapes of Wrath_ in such a way that Steinbeck is still my favorite author, and that book is still my favorite read. My deepest sympathies to his family. His love of literature and writing lives on in each of us.

I was lucky to have been one of Mr. Lindon“s classes in the early 1980s. He was not only a brilliant teacher, but he had a wicked sense of humor. I remember when he was talking about Puritanism. He said, "This is how most people kill a bug," and he mimicked stamping a bug on the floor. "Now this is how a Puritan does it," and he slid his foot with added emphisis. And he would add a sly smile. What a wonderful man! May his memory be eternal. Christopher Lynch.
