Mr. "Buddy" James Wilbert Locklear Sr. age 81 of Maxton, North Carolina was born August 4th, 1944, to Willie Locklear and Roberta Locklear in Robeson County. Mr. Buddy departed this life to his eternal heavenly home on August 13th, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by both parents Willie and Roberta Locklear, brother Johnny Locklear, grandson Caden Locklear, and his precious daughters Loretta Jones and Tammy Locklear. He is survived by his wife of 63 years that he truly cherished Margaret Locklear of the home, son Claude Locklear of the home, son James Locklear Jr. "Pretty Pop" (Elizabeth) of Maxton. Son-in-law that he considered more of a son Dexter Jones of Maxton. Grandchildren and great grands along with a host of relatives and friends.

Buddy will leave behind so many memories that we will cherish. Buddy spent a lifetime working the farm, providing countless meals for people in the community. He could be found early mornings or late evenings on his tractor or walking the fields checking on his crops. Buddy also loved spending time in the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting any chance he got. Often you could find him in the mix of a good jam session, strumming on his guitar with Margaret right by his side. He never met a stranger, and his jokes could light up any room. He will be missed tremendously. He also had over 50 years of working construction.
