James Loughead Obituary
James was born on January 7, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to Aloysius and Ruth (Stait) Loughead. On September 12, 1970 James married Carolyn Williams; together they had twin sons Mark and Matt and have been married 55 years.
Devoted husband of Carolyn; loving father of Mark and Matt (Emma); adored grandfather of Eli, Gabriel, Olivia and Lilianna; cherished brother of the late Marijane Gerweck and Thomas (the late Nancy) Lougheed; and beloved uncle of Michele Jackonen, Scott Lougheed, Patrick Lougheed and the late Jonathan Moore.
A visitation for James will be Monday, November 3, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. funeral service at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank Road, Macomb.
A private burial will take place at Glen Eden East Cemetery in Macomb, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries.

Mr. Loughead gave me the confidence in myself that I needed at such a young age. I am forever grateful for the time I had him in my life. He will be missed.

Mr. Loughead was my best teacher in 6th grade and I've learned a lot from him. He really cared about his students and he made teaching fun for us. To the family, my husband and I give our sincere condolences and prayers goes out to you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family now. I loved going to his class. He was definitely one of the teachers that truly cared about his students and his athletic team members. He always found something each day to make us laugh and he made learning fun. He made an awesome impression on a lot of us. Rest easy Mr. Loughead, Rest easy!
