James Michael “Mike” Love passed away peacefully at his home on November 8, 2025, following a brief illness.
Born on February 20, 1957, Mike spent much of his childhood traveling across the United States during his father’s military service, eventually growing up in Great Falls, Montana. At the age of 19, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he trained in electrical engineering on the C-130 aircraft. Drawing on that expertise, he later founded his own business, designing and creating electrical systems for the C-130s.
Mike was an Eagle Scout, a Master Mason, and an active member of his community. He was a lifelong enthusiast of loud, fast cars, especially his 1962 Nova, and took great pride in restoring historic homes. Music was another joy in his life, and he loved playing the guitar for family and friends.
He will be remembered for his charm, humor, quick wit, and his signature moustache.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Saderholm.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters, Jody Love (Darrell Pulliam) and Janelle Miller (David); grandchildren, Aura, Morgan, Harrison, Alice, and Clara; father, James Matthew Love; stepfather, Charlie Saderholm; sister, Pamela Love; niece and nephews, Madeline, Forrest, and Matthew; and his best friend, Michael “Duck” Broden. He leaves behind numerous friends and colleagues whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
