Jimmy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Susan (Susie) Phillips Loven, son John
Anderson Loven and wife Michelle; brothers Joe Loven (Phyllis), and Bobby Loven (Pam);
grandchildren Austin and Ashley Loven.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carey Lynn Loven, Sr., Miriam Loven (Moody) and a brother Carey Lynn Loven, Jr. and his wife Carolyn.
Jimmy was Co-owner of Loven Ready-Mix for 38 years. Along with his brothers, Loven
manufactured and delivered concrete from Wilmington, NC to Clinton, TN. In 1967 he moved to Mohawk, TN to manufacture concrete for the construction of Interstate 81. After
completion of the Interstate, Loven moved to The Ball Metal project in Greeneville, TN. With the help of Doc Kilday, Jimmy and his brother, Joe, chose to set a permanent concrete plant location on Industrial Road in Greeneville. From 1970 - 2004 the company expanded to nine locations and 125 employees. Jimmy and Joe successfully sold the company in 2004. Along the way, Jimmy enjoyed auto racing in the Nascar Late Model Sportsman Series and was always looking for adventure. He traveled to the Alaska Pipeline to purchase trucks, searched for WWII planes in Greenland, and raced a Baja rally across South America. After selling his company, Jimmy spent the majority of his time traveling with Susie, playing with his grandchildren, and rebuilding heavy trucks. Jimmy possessed a sense of humor that could have everyone around him laughing. He tackled problems with hard work and determination. He always expected superior results and pushed himself to act the same.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12th at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Greeneville with Rev. Todd Jenkins and Dr. Dan Donaldson. The family will receive friends following the Celebration of Life in the Simon Fellowship Hall.
A graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13th at Pineola Presbyterian
Church, Pineola, NC. Rev. Keith Freeman will officiate.

Just learned of Jim´s passing today. A real shocker. I´ve known
Jim for over 30 years. He is another legend from the concrete
industry that we have lost. Won´t forget the memories though.
Treasure the times when we met at concrete mixer and classic
car show functions. Will miss hearing his stories from his road
travels. My heartfelt sympathies go to Susie, John, grandkids
and rest of family.

I worked for Jimmy from September of 1997 until he sold the plant. Jimmy was a very kind and generous person. He wouldn't ask me to do anything he wasn't willing to do himself. I enjoyed and miss working for him. He will be missed.

Jimmy was always very nice to me & pointed me in the right direction when searching for old Mack parts I am deeply saddened by his passing I know in my heart he's probably talking to my dad right about now which he knew back years ago. For a small farm we poured a lot of concrete and I know dad probably got the best deal that could be had from Jimmy. He will be missed dearly.

I was truly saddened to hear of Jimmy´s passing. I always enjoyed visiting with him, talking Jeeps and other vehicles, swapping stories, and sharing a laugh. He had a great sense of humor and was a gifted storyteller. He´ll be missed and remembered fondly.
