James (Jim) Lyle Lumbert of Edmore, Michigan, passed away on September 23rd, 2025, in his home at the age of 78.

He was born on August 21, 1947, the son of Lyle and Katherine Lumbert. Jim grew up in Edmore, where he graduated from Edmore High School. Following high school, he worked at Hitachi for 35 years. In 1994, He married Debra Rudy in St. Johns Michigan. The two of them spent 31 years together, camping, playing cards, and spending time with their grandchildren.

Jim was a proud father of 6 children. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often taking them for rides on his lawnmower. The Grandchildren will fondly remember his pancakes in the mornings, gardening and spending time in the yard with him, and his world-famous pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Jim will be remembered for his contagious humor, often laughing at his own jokes. He was happiest riding a tractor and working the fields on the family farm with his son. No number of words will ever be able to describe the love and humor he brought into people's lives.

Jim will be forever missed by his wife, Debra Lumbert; Children, Scott (Amy) Lumbert, Todd (Cindy) Lumbert, Brad (Sue) Lumbert, Sarah (Tavin) Willmore, Angie (James) Probyn, Travis Lumbert, Amy (Tab) Maneval, Charlie (Karin) Root; 19 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren, sister; Linda (Tom) Helm, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death; parents, Lyle and Katherine; in laws, Duane and Nancy Rudy; siblings, Sandra Lumbert, Jack Lumbert, Jackie Shell, Janet Beach.

A funeral service in Jim's honor will be held at 1PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore. The family will greet guests from 11AM until the time of service.
