JAMES MACBRIDE Obituary

MacBRIDE--James V., Sr., age 96, of Marlton, NJ, formerly of Bergenfield, NJ passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Care One at Evesham. He was born in Staten Island, NY to the late Charles and Agnes MacBride. James honorably served in the US Army, fighting in the Korean War and was awarded The Purple Heart and the Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Service Stars, along with the Combat Infantry Badge. He worked for The New York Times for 33 years, retiring in 1996. While he was there, he worked as a linotype machinist and eventually became a supervisor in the typewriter repair division. He enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and painting wooden ducks. James also enjoyed his trips to Atlantic City. James was predeceased by his beloved wife, Antoinette MacBride; and his son, James V. MacBride, Jr. He is survived by his children, Patricia MacBride and Matthew MacBride; and his brother, Douglas MacBride. A graveside service will be at 11:30am on Monday, September 30, 2024, at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Rd., Paramus, NJ 07652.
