Jim was a dear friend to us. Gentle, generous, passionate, always ready to travel and have an adventure, quick to laugh and rich in information - politics, history, religion. Devoted to Children's Village, always regaling us with stories - never with more glee than when sharing the accomplishments of his and Ruth's children and grandchildren. The world is more impoverished without him - we already feel the loss of dinners, fundraisers for favorite candidates, "spirited" discussions......and laughter.

Loved going to Jim's golf club for dinner! He was a delightful man and a delightful raconteur.

Uncle Jim, I will miss you. I'm so proud of what you accomplished during your generous life, I just wish I could have grown up closer to you and gotten to know you better. Your gift to me of the small photo album full of youthful pictures of you and my father Jack is probably the most meaningful gift I've ever received. I'm so grateful that I was able to visit with you when you came out to Bellingham on several occasions. I will cherish those memories so very much.

I was so saddened to hear of Jim´s passing. I had the honor to know him and learn from him as a board member at Children First. Jim modeled what life-long dedication to service looks like, and I will be forever grateful for his steadfast example. His lessons and his passion for making a positive impact will continue to guide so many of us in our advocacy for years to come. My sincere condolences to Jim´s family, friends and our broader community for our collective loss.

I knew Jim though his work with PCCY/Children First and enjoyed our many talks. We exchanged ideas about event fundraising as recently as 3 weeks ago and I was so looking forward to seeing him on the 20th at our Celebration. He will be missed greatly by his CF family. Caroline King
