James Caffey “Jimmy” Massey, 66, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Alamance County and was the son of the late John Henry and Bobbie Mae Kernodle Massey.
Jimmy retired from Goodyear after more than 25 years. He loved walking every day, flowers and gardening. In the past, he loved running marathons, and he once even rode his bike across the country.
He is survived by his son, Thomas “Tommy” Massey; siblings, Johnny Massey, Margaret Massey Dickey and husband Mike, Bobbie Ann Massey; special friend, Dee Dillard; nieces and nephews, Jonathan Massey and his wife Melissa, Preston Massey and his wife Samantha, Jessica Smith and her husband Caleb; great nieces and nephews, Jonathan Massey, Jr., Laila Massey, Tessa Mae Smith, Tallulah Jean Smith, Chris Tart and his wife Emily, Matthew and Michael Beagle.
A visitation to celebrate his life will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 Saturday evening, August 3, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory. At other times you may visit the family at the home of his late parents, John and Bobbie Mae Massey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association @ www.heart.org.
