James Floyd "Toadie" McClellan, age 94, of Sulphur, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at his residence. He was born September 15, 1929 in Turners Station, Kentucky, the son of Ed and Jessie (Williams) McClellan.
Mr. McClellan was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, having enlisted on March 6, 1951 and completing his Army Reserve duty on October 8, 1956.
He was a longtime member of Sulphur Baptist Church, and enjoyed playing cards and shooting Pool with friends, traveling to Florida, and watching sports on television.
His surviving family includes three daughters: Hallie Skaggs and her husband, Mike of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Lenagene Sandefur of Eminence, Kentucky, and Rhonda Cannon and her husband, Frank of Hillsboro, Kentucky; two sons: Bruce McClellan of Eminence, and Jamie McClellan of Indiana; one daughter-in-law, Donna Powell of Shelbyville, Kentucky; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Juanita Devore on March 8, 2023, and to whom he was married on September 12, 1970; two sons: Joe Powell and E.B. McClellan; two brothers: W.E. McClellan and Leslie McClellan; and one sister, Claris Robinson.
The Reverend Billy Washburn will conduct the funeral services.
The Honor Guard from Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion in Madison, Indiana and the Ceremonial Unit from the United States Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky will conduct military graveside services.
