James Mead, 60, of Dallas Twp., passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Jim was born in Kingston, to the late Frederick Sterling Mead and the late Mary S. Smith. He graduated from Tunkhannock High School in 1981 and went on to work as an IT professional in the Philadelphia area. James will be remembered for his playful prankster personality, and mechanical ability with all things automotive, but he especially loved planning bonfires for celebrations with his beloved family. James was always ready to lend a hand or give advice when asked. He enjoyed long chats with family and friends, and was always ready for adventure.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, David Mead.
James is survived by his siblings, Linda Stephenson-Long (Robert Long), Philadelphia; Michele Carichner, Dallas; Timothy Mead (Sarah), Dallas; Kevin Mead (Janine), Wilton, N.H.; and stepbrother, James Smith (Rebecca), Athens.
He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family and friends who love him.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

My deepest sympathy to Jim´s family. I worked with Jim on the same shift last year. Jim often called to check in with me even after he left the job. We always have good conversation. Again my thoughts and prayer to the Mead family.
