James "Jesse" O. Miles, 81 of Elkhorn, WI died Monday December 12, 2022 at his residence. He was born January 22, 1941 in Elkhorn, WI the son of the late Tony and Hazel (Channing) Miles. Jesse was united in marriage to Carolyn R. Behrens on June 17, 1995 at Millard Community Church. Jesse was a heavy equipment operator, operating a grader for NuRoad in his early working years, later for B.R. Amon and Sons, and then retiring from Mann Brothers in 2007. After his retirement he enjoyed working and grading at the Walworth Co. Fair. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local # 139 and the Delavan Sportsmen Club. Jesse enjoyed woodworking, trap shooting, snowmobiling, playing cards especially Euchre (which he thought he was a pro!?!?) and taking care of his lawn and garden. His sarcastic sense of humor will be sadly missed. Jesse will be greatly missed by his wife of 27 years, Carolyn, his two children: Shawna Miles of Delavan, WI, and Marcy (James) Lederhos of Phoenix AZ, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and by his sister Jean Lobach of Delavan, WI and his brother: Frank (Jenny) Miles of Bonifay FL and by a host of relatives and friends. Jesse was preceded in death by two sons: Tim and James, his grandson: Josh Lederhos and by two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM followed by a service at 5:00 PM Monday December 19, 2022 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI.
