James Millis Obituary

James Allan Millis

James Allan Millis, age 52 of Biwabik Township, Minn., passed away, from cancer, on October 15, 2025.

He was born on November 3, 1972, in Aurora.

James attended St. Cloud Technical College and became an entrepreneur. He had a generous spirit and a passion for helping others. An inquisitive mind and thirst for knowledge enabled him to become a master of many skills. He accepted new challenges with vigor, ingenuity, and enthusiasm.

Before James passed, he expressed his desire to thank all those who supported him, including friends, family, the wonderful staff at Northern Pines Nursing Home and his excellent East Range Hospice Care team. James was charismatic and made friends easily with his humor, sarcasm, and wit. He touched many people's lives in many ways and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Caroline Soyring; his sister, Shelly (Tom) Kuelbs and their children, Joe, Gavin and Aurora; stepmother, Robin Millis and half-brother, Ryan (Gina) Millis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Millis and stepfather, Charles Soyring.

A Gathering for family and friends will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home, Eveleth.
