James Durwood Mills was born on November 9, 1980, in Columbia, LA, to the union of his parents, Randall Lewis Mills and Danna James Mills. He passed from this life on October 30, 2025, while at work in Columbia, LA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmial Durwood Mills and Gwen Mills; and grandparents, Dannie Poole and Don James.
James was known and loved by everyone he met. He had battled diabetes since he was 16 years old, but through trial and tribulation he always pushed forward. He worshipped and served his Lord at Mangham First Assembly of God where he also served as a deacon. James heart was truly one to serve. In his spare time he loved hunting and fishing, his family and most of all, his grandkids who were the apple of his eye.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Kristy Royals Mills of Rayville; father and mother, Randy and Danna Mills of Columbia; two sons, Christopher Mills (Megan) of Monroe and Clayton Mills (Madison Shipp) of Rayville; daughters: Chelsea Jobe (Joshua) of Archibald and Hannah Trahan (Brice) Trahan of Sulphur; brother, Matthew Mills (Mika) of Oak Grove, LA; and grandchildren: Adalynn Royals, Kaceton Chapman, Carston Jobe, Ryder Mills, and Levi Trahan.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Mangham First Assembly of God at Mangham with Bro. Tim Zuber officiating. The Mills Family will receive visitors on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church.
Honorary pallbearers include: Jarrell Clark, Jacob Marze, Yogi Patel, Kaceton Chapman, Carston Jobe, and Ryder Mills.
