James Dale Milton, a beloved member of the community, passed away on October 25, 2023. He was born on September 27, 1978, in Illinois. James was a remarkable individual with many accomplishments and passions throughout his life.

James dedicated his career to ConMet, where he worked diligently and made significant contributions. His commitment to excellence and his attention to detail were truly commendable. James was known for his exceptional problem-solving abilities and had a reputation for being able to work on anything that came his way.

Outside of work, James had many hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He had a deep love for riding motorcycles and spent countless hours exploring the open road. Additionally, he cherished the companionship of his dog Otis, who was always by his side providing constant love and friendship.

One aspect of James' life that brought him immense happiness was coaching youth football. As an assistant coach, he had the opportunity to inspire and mentor young athletes. His larger-than-life personality shone through as he guided these young players both on and off the field. James was deeply passionate about instilling values such as teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship in the youth he coached.

In addition to his professional achievements and hobbies, James was known for his kindness and generosity. He possessed an unwavering willingness to help others in need without hesitation or expectation of anything in return. Those who knew him well appreciated his intellect and admired his vivacious approach to life.

Family played an integral role in James' life, bringing him immeasurable joy and happiness. He leaves behind a loving fiancé, Emily Conner, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. James is also survived by his mother, Linda Freck (Rick), along with two sons, Elijiah Cole Lambert and Kolby Alton Conner; as well as one daughter named Madison Marie Conner.

He also left behind a sister named Tammy Stanford (Jack), who loved and cherished him dearly. The loss of James will be deeply felt by his maternal grandparents, Lee and Emily Mintz, as well as his two step-brothers, Brian Freck (Susan) and Dusty Freck (Jennifer); two aunts and one uncle. James will be missed by his niece Kendall, nephew Jackson Stanford, and several cousins.

James was preceded in death by his Great-Grandparents, Otis and Ruby Mintz; and one cousin, Emily Ray. Their memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew them.

The passing of James Dale Milton is a great loss to his family, friends, colleagues, and the community at large. He touched the lives of many people with his infectious spirit, kind heart, and dedication. James' memory will forever serve as an inspiration for all those whose lives he has impacted.

May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy will continue on through the lives he has touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the North Canton Fire Department.  The fire department is located at 1685 N. Canton Road, Canton, NC  28716.
