James Coleman Mock of Bluffton, SC passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026.
He was born on October 13, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan to Johanna Swetish and Coleman Mock.
James was married 59 years to Carol Mathiak.
He graduated from GMI with an Engineering degree and worked 37 years for General Motors before retiring in 1993. He also served in the Army.
James and Carol spent many years in Michigan before retiring to Sun City Hilton Head in 1999.
James loved playing golf and was a very good golfer. He also loved skiing when he lived in Michigan. Jim never stopped learning, always reading and searching for new information. He was willing to help others, and able to fix and repair many things.
He loved dogs and was seen walking his dog every morning.
Carol and James had a wonderful 59 years together. He was a great husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at Sauls Funeral Home at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
