James V. Montufar of Maple Shade passed away on Wednesday May 8, 2024. He was 92 years old. Jim was born in Philadelphia on March 27, 1932 to the late Constantine and Margaret Montufar. He retired after 32 years from A & P Markets/SuperFresh in Florence where he worked as a butcher and meat buyer. Jim was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister there. He was a longtime president of the OLPH Seniors having arranged many bus trips and social activities for the group. Jim enjoyed traveling, square dancing and golfing all over the world. He volunteered as coach for Maple Shade Little League as well as Babe Ruth Baseball, also gave of his time to the Cub Scouts as a leader, and the MC of entertainment for the GAP Girls.
Beloved husband of Martha "Tina" Montufar (nee Bango), loving father of James (Marilyn) Montufar and Tina Marie Montufar (George Klein), cherished grandfather of Mary Kate (Patrick) News, Kevin Montufar, Kelly Kochan and Kristin (Dan) Garlotta, proud great grandfather of Gianna and Sophia Garlotta, dear brother of the late Edward, Charles and Joseph Montufar, Jim will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Saturday May 18th 10-11 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main Street, Maple Shade. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to OLPH Senior Club, 236 E. Main St. Maple Shade, NJ 08052.
