James P. Moran Jr.

James Paul Moran, Jr. of Marriottsville, MD passed away on Monday, March 3rd, 2025. He was 76 years old.
Jim or Sid, as he was known to his friends and family, was born on December 25th, 1948, to James Paul Moran, Sr. and Mary Lou Brandlen in Westernport, MD.
After graduating from Bruce High School in Westernport, Jim spent six years in the Navy serving on the aircraft carrier John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Jr. and was honorably discharged.
Jim earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland College Park in Electrical Engineering, Phi Beta Kappa. He worked an electrical and software engineer at Singer, Singer-Link, Hughes, Nauticos and as a consultant to the Raytheon Corporation under JPM Engineering.
Jim enjoyed many hobbies including: hunting, fishing, woodworking, Nascar as well as having lunch with his dog, Rini, by the river in Sykesville. He also loved to read and graduating to listening to books on tape in his truck. Jim also enjoyed his annual family vacation to Isle of Palms, SC. He was a great husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle & friend.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Hutchison Moran, son Matthew Moran and his wife Christina, daughter Megan Moran, grandchildren: Dominic Moran, Connor Moran & Kellen Moran, his brother Robert Moran and his wife Mary Ann and their daughters Jennifer (Mike) & Kristin (Justin), Sally, her husband Bill and son's Sean, Todd & Matthew.
He was proceeded in death by his father James Paul Moran, Jr., his mother Mary Lou Moran and his grandson Gavin James Moran.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 11th from 12pm -2pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A. in Clarksville, MD. A funeral procession will follow to Mountain View Cemetery in Marriottsville, MD.
