James "Jim" Alan Morris was born on February 18, 1951, and passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Jim was one of seven children born to Richard and Edna Morris. Growing up in Connecticut, he often shared memories of skating on a pond near home and the lively chaos of life with many siblings. He was a twin, though many people guessed wrong about which brother it was, since his younger brother looked almost identical to him.

Life eventually took Jim across the country as an over-the-road truck driver, but Oregon always held his heart. He loved the deep green of the forests and the cool, quiet beaches along the coast.

In 1994, Jim met Cyndy and found the family he would cherish deeply. He quickly became “Dad” to her daughters, and not long after, their son, James Morris Jr., was born. Jim loved being a father, and Jimmy was truly the light of his life.

Those who knew Jim will remember his love of fishing, a tradition he happily passed down through generations. They will remember his fondness for spicy food, his legendary appetite for garlic, and the way he almost always had a sweet treat nearby (usually a peanut butter cup tucked away somewhere).

Jim is survived by his stepdaughters, Casey Peirce (Michael) and Ashley Rogalski; his son, James Morris Jr. (Katy); and his grandchildren: Maxim, Micah, and Merit Peirce; Ian and Logan Rogalski; and Haiden and Krixen Morris.

Jim wished to be cremated, and his children and grandchildren will gather for a small, intimate memorial at a later date. In the stories they share, the fishing lines they cast, and maybe even in a peanut butter cup along the way, his memory will continue to live on.
