James Edward Murphy, age 61, of Pine Knot, KY., passed away early Saturday Morning, January 25, 2025, at Tennova North in Powell, TN. James was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on September 15, 1963, and was the son of the late Edward and Betty Perry Murphy. He was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. James had worked as a Truck Driver for Super Service and enjoyed repairing and restoring old classic cars and going to classis car shows.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two sisters; Lillian L Murphy and Susie Murphy.
Survivors include his brother; Bobby Gene Murphy of Marshes Siding, sisters; Tricia L. Hastings (Michael) of Somerset, Lisa Waterbury (Kyle) of Maynardville, TN., Linda S. Andrews (Ronald) of Corbin, Brenda L. Andrews of Strunk, Patricia Redd (Johnny) of Marshes Siding, Donna K. Jones (Russell) of Whitley City, , Fayrene Spradlin (Michael) of Parkers Lake, Pamela “Pam” Murphy of Pine Knot, Kandy Ward (Ben) of Monticello, Judy A. Wyatt (Russell) of Pine Knot, and Jonie L. Clark of Clinton, TN., Numerous Nieces and Nephews, along with special friends whom he loved dearly; Jeff Lyons, Tim Jones, Tim Justis, Jerry Flynn, Kathy King and Dora Ridner.
Funeral services for James, will be held in the Chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon until time for services. Brother Tim Corder will be officiating, and burial will follow in the Indian Creek Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
