James Arthur Mustion, Sr. (Jim/Jimmy), 69, of Jefferson City, MO, passed away at home after a brief illness on January 4, 2026. Visitation will be held at H. T. May Funeral Home, 405 Sycamore Street, Boonville, MO, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm with funeral services following at the exact location at 12:00 p.m.

Jim was born June 3, 1956, in Nocona, Texas, the first son and 4th child of Rev. Joe Bill Mustion and Leona Ada Hardwick Mustion. Jim grew up in Boonville, MO, where he grew to be an intelligent, creative, and trendy person, excelling in art and music. Jim was one of the first to embrace the music scene of his youth and loved the Beatles, Todd Rundgren, Jimi Hendrix, and Janice Joplin toname a few. Jim also had several bands as a youth and recorded music with his friends using his trusty recorder.

Jim was a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL, with a Bachelor of Arts on June 8, 1991. Upon graduation, Jim worked in Edwardsville for anorganization where he created event media art for the community events.

Jim later settled in Jefferson City, where he joined the Jefferson City Art Club. He loved creating art pieces for their shows and won many awards. Jim was a featured artist on the Rick Jay Show, which showed on the Jefferson City local channel. Jim was the Promotions and Publicity correspondent for the club for many years, creating articles that were featured in the Star Tribune Sunday feature magazine about local artists. Jim was lovingly named "The Glitterman" at the art club because of his use of glitter in his multi-media artworks. Jim won first place in the 2019 Missouri State Fair in Multimedia for his work of art called Heaven.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Joe and Leona Mustion; his brother, Tim Mustion; and his sister, Ramona Ning. His son and family survive him, Rev. James Arthur Mustion, Jr., Christiana, and Noelle Mustion of Jefferson City, MO; his sister Nancy and Gary Partin and family of Independence, MO; his sister Judy Sims and family of St. Paul, MN. Jim was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews.
