James Edward Nace lovingly known as Jim, passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 88 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was born on September 23, 1937, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Jim led a life of service and dedication, retiring from the U.S. Navy after a distinguished career. He also contributed his skills to the Union Pacific Railroad.

Jim was known for his patient and kind personality, always willing to take the time to sit down and talk, sharing stories with those who gathered around him. His hobbies included mechanical work, which he enjoyed thoroughly, reflecting his hands-on nature and love for problem-solving. Above all, Jim cherished his time with his wife, Maxine Nace (Layton), emphasizing the importance of love and partnership throughout their life together.

A viewing will be held on December 4, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel, located at 1900 E 19th St, Cheyenne, WY, followed by a funeral service and military honors from 10:00 AM. Jim will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery, with burial taking place at 11:30 AM that same day.

Jim's legacy, marked by his military service, kindness, and love, will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
