James "Jim" Joseph Nettesheim, age 95, of Menomonee Falls, WI, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025. Jim will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his warmth, kindness, generosity, sense of humor and deep love for family and friends.

Jim was born on January 31, 1930, in Brookfield, WI. As a child, he moved with his family to Monches, where his parents, John and Cecelia Nettesheim, raised a large and loving family on their farm. Later, while attending Hartford High School, Jim met the love of his life, Mary Plankey.

After graduation, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he met and maintained lifelong friends.

On May 3, 1952, Jim and Mary were united in marriage at St. Columba's Church in Lake Five. Following his service, they settled in Plat, where Jim built a beautiful home and together they raised four children.

Jim enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Wisconsin Electric Power Company. He and Mary made many close friends in Plat who filled their lives with laughter and community, enjoying baseball games, snowmobiling, dartball and countless card parties.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary, and cherished siblings Mary, Kenneth, Esther, Bernadette, John W. and David, brothers-in-law John, Stanley, Jim, Donald and Jim Plankey and sister-in-law Elaine.

Jim is survived by his children Dan (Lynn), Deb (Tim), Denise (Cynde) and Doug (Betty) as well as his cherished grandchildren Megan, Caitlin, Natasha, Meghan, Ethan, Cooper, Jackson and Kiley, and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear brother John and sisters-in-law Dorothy, Rose and Colette Plankey, along with many extended family members and friends.

Special thanks and gratitude to his caregiver and good friend Judy, who took wonderful care of Jim for many years.

A private funeral service will be held.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Jim's memory.
