The family lived in Winooski, VT, where Randy attended St. Francis Xavier grade school, then Rice Memorial in South Burlington for two years before transferring to Mount Assumption Academy (MAI) in Plattsburgh, New York, where he made a name for himself as "Bulldog" on the school football team. I knew Randy when he was a State Legislator. He sponsored the Rathskeller Bill for us in the Vermont State Colleges Student Association. I promised him a beer at a college rathskeller if the bill went through. Thanks to Randy's efforts, the bill went through. I am sorry to say I was unable to keep my beer promise to Randy. It was soon afterwards that Vermont raised the drinking age and the rates rathskeller dream collapsed. I am sorry to hear of his passing. I enjoyed meeting him and working on the bill together. There are more stories of Randy but, I will stop here. I am glad I met him. My condolences to the family.

Randy and I were in the same freshmen platoon at Norwich University in 1967. You never forget the great guys you started with at Norwich. My condolences to his family. RIP

Terri and I are sorry to hear of Randy's passing. We knew Randy for many years in Vermont, and thoroughly enjoyed his wit and friendship. We also appreciated his service as a Vermont State Legislator. Randy was one of the good guys; and we know he will be missed.RIP

Randy was a classmate of mine at Norwich. We lost touch with one another over the years. I thought of him often, wish now I had made more of an effort to reconnect. He was a great guy.

A very big part of my teen years has passed. Randy was a great sounding board during those often troublesome coming of age years. Memories include sandlot football, driving lessons with the Studebakers and Cadillacs, water skiing lessons at the camp, listening to Nancy's classical music on the best Hi Fi record player in Winooski and then playing the Ventures and Beatles afterwards.
Probably the best memories was the start of our own little weight room in the back room of the garage. We combined our barbell sets, springs, iron shoes, hand grips and any other muscle gimmick we could afford or make. As I recall that room was always below zero even in June.
Regret not getting to see and talk with you in later years. My bad.

Randy always had a way of making the old people feel young again and the young ones feel older...which is just about the coolest way to feel in either scenario. No matter what walk of life you came from or what season of life you found yourself in, he always brought everyone to summer. He will be missed, but the happy memories he left many of us will endure.

We are so sad to learn of Randy's passing. He was such a gentle soul who loved life and could always tell a good story. We'll miss his smile and sense of humor. He will be missed but more importantly he will be remembered. Rest in peace dear friend.
