James Alan Noble, 83, of Kent passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025. Jim was born April 7, 1942 in Akron, OH to the late Joseph and Helen (Zalewski) Noble. He was a graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a carpet installer and retired from the Kent Post Office.
He married his high school sweetheart; Carol Thompson and they recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and gardening. He valued the time he spent coaching his daughters’ softball teams and golfing with his family. He delighted in teasing his grandkids and attending their many activities. Jim loved music, and his dancing, singing and accordion playing entertained friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; children, Laura (Jeff) Bulgrin, Mark (Susanne) Noble, Lynn (Patrick) Dean; grandchildren, Jenna (Connor) Weber, Eric and Alex Bulgrin, Natalie (Owen) Crawford, Maggie and Paul Dean; siblings, Barbara Noble, H.M., Mildred Ely, H.M., Thomas (Felicia) Noble, Kathy (William) Burgess, Susan (Charles) Shaffer, and brother-in-law Jeff Murphy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Joseph Noble, Phil Noble, and Mary Murphy.
The family would like to thank Jeannette Chronoski (caregiver and friend) and the caregivers at Hudson Grande and Traditions Health Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Jim to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00–7:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St., Kent, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 313 N. Depeyster St., Kent, OH. with the Rev. Fr. William Wainio as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
