James Norris Obituary
Godfrey - James L. Norris, 80, passed away September 23, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born August 27, 1945 in Evansville, IN, he was the son of Ernest Norris and Ruby (Madison) Norris Hudson.
James had worked as a hair dresser and stylist for many years. He lived life to the fullest up to the end. He loved his family, animals, and his clients.
Surviving are a son, Marcus Norris of Godfrey; daughter, Melissa Kamp of Godfrey; a grandchild; sister, Phyllis Helm of Paducah, KY; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Kay Owens.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet Wilson.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
No services have been scheduled.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River in charge of arrangements.

I am so sad to hear of Jim´s passing. He was a very dear friend for many many years. We did a lot of fun things together.
Jim had just dropped by about two months ago. He did not mention that he was ill or had any health issues.
Jim was a fantastic Hair Stylist an awesome person and so much fun. Anytime you were with Jim you were laughing he will be missed by all of his family ,friends ,all of his clients and especially his fur babies that he loved so much and took such good care of. I am sending hugs and love to everyone that lost this dear friend Jim, Noriss.
I am heartbroken that I did not know this and was not there for him..

I worked with Jim at Spotlight Drive Inn when he was a high school kid. We had a lot of fun on the job. he made the time go faster everyone loved him.

I met Jim back in the 60's as I was friends with his sister Janet. I am sad to read of Jim's passing. I never met his children, but I had met Phyllis and Tommy a long time ago. Condolences to everyone. God bless.
