James Ross Norris, born on January 3, 1947, in the warmth of a loving family, passed away on February 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. A proud graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, James dedicated a significant portion of his career to Huntington Ingalls Industries, where his contributions were both valued and respected.

James was not only a devoted professional but also a passionate individual who enjoyed various hobbies. He found joy on the golf course, took pleasure in the intricate world of coin collecting, and delighted in solving crossword puzzles. Above all, he treasured the moments spent with his family, which undoubtedly brought him immense happiness throughout his life.

As the last surviving parent, James leaves a profound legacy that will be cherished by his loved ones. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Ann Dunham of Lucedale, MS, who carries forward the values and love instilled in her by her father. He is also remembered fondly by his brother, William Lloyd Norris, Jr., and his beloved grandchildren, Kendall Ann Bradfute, Kayla Marie Shultz, and Kohl Clifton Dunham. The joy of his great-grandchildren, Kylie Ann Peterson, Karson Kruz Bradfute, and Kash Wayne Bradfute, will continue to be a source of pride and affection as they remember their great-grandfather's loving spirit.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fay Norris, who brought light and joy into his life, as well as his parents, William Lloyd Norris and Martha Elizabeth McFarland, who shaped the man he became. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but the love and memories he shared will remain a guiding force.

In a life devoted to family, profession, and personal interests, James Ross Norris has created an enduring impact on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. He will be missed deeply but remembered forever with love and gratitude.
