James Buddy Nunnery, Sr. 89, was born on February 2, 1936 in Leachville, Arkansas and passed away in Corning Living and Therapy Center on September 30, 2025. Buddy was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family, farming, blue grass music, playing the guitar, and loved his old red and white ford year 66 model. He was a hard-working man and never knew what retirement meant. Buddy as he was known by family and friends was preceded in death by: his wife: Josephine Elizabeth Nunnery; one daughter: Anita Nunnery; one granddaughter: Kaitlyn Elizabeth Hampton; and one grandson: Matthew Jackson; also preceding him in death was his father: John Wylie Nunnery; mother: Liddie Ellen Nunnery when he was three years old and step mother: Maggie Nunnery; three sisters: Hazel Horn, Jewel Weaver, Betty Keele; and three brothers: Dub Nunnery, Frayo Nunnery, and Cornelius Nunnery. He is survived by; three daughter: Donna Miller (Tommy) of Rector, Arkansas, Sherry Nunnery of Boydsville, Arkansas, Debbie Mitchell (Rashid) of Lafe, Arkansas; one son: Jim Nunnery (Vickie) of Boydsville, Arkansas; two grandsons: Terry Miller of Pocahontas, Arkansas and Zander Miller of Pocahontas, Arkansas; one great grandson: Trevor Miller of Pocahontas, Arkansas; and one half-sister: Pat Stone of Rector, Arkansas; he has also left behind many loved ones, and friends. He will be really missed, but we know he will be walking the streets of gold with Jesus. Those to serve as pallbearers will be: James Buddy Nunnery, Jr. "Jim", Johnny Nunnery, Robert Paul Nunnery, Dub Nunnery, Jr., Terry Miller, and Trevor Miller. Honorary pallbearers are: Eugene Yancey and Zack Yancey. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas with Tommy Miller officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
