Ramon "Ray" Ramirez

An old high school friend, Dave Comstock, informed me of Jim's passing. Jim was one of the really great friends I had the wonderful fortune of having. He was my band director at St. Pete's but also a mentor, tutor, accompanist, counselor, role model, innovator, humanitarian, and friend of the family. After high school, we became buddies and I have particularly fond memories of playing jobs with Jim in John Lipinski's wedding band through my college years. We had little contact after I left Michigan, especially when my parents left Michigan in the year 2000. Yet, when I called him a few years back, it was as if time had never passed. I would have loved to have spent more time with you, Jim. I miss you.

He was a wonderful Christian, always ready an encouraging word and a smile .Always willing to help out at the food pantry. He was easy to work with .He had a great love of music and very talented. He always encouraged us (the choir)to sing out and do our best.He had a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by all.
