Naples - It is with great sadness that the family of James O'Donnell, Jr, age 84, announce his passing at his home on November 2, 2025.

He was born on October 17, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Irma O'Donnell (Graap) and sister Patricia Lange, all of Naples, FL and his gracious in-laws, James and Genevieve Daily of Union Lake, Michigan. He met his future wife and best friend Phyllis Daily while students at the University of Detroit. They shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted husband and caring father to his two sons, Patrick Palmer and Grady James. Jim took great pride in his sons who were grateful that he was a kind but terrible disciplinarian. Jim loved his family. In addition, he loved golf, boating, golf, traveling, poker, fast cars and he also liked golf.

In addition to his immediate family, Jim is survived by his sister, Kathleen April (Kenneth) and his nephew, Michael April (Heather) all blessed to be in Texas of all places and his nephew, Kenneth April, Jr (JoAnn) of Panama City, FL.

Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor which was fortunate as he never wavered in his hope for the Detroit Lions. He was patiently consistent fan since the team began rebuilding in 1957, and loyal through every brutally painful year.

The family wishes to thank Avow Hospice for their care and comfort for Jim and his family. We shall be eternally grateful and blessed for the aid they provided through this difficult time.

Memorial donations in Jim's name may be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane Naples, FL 34105. To send notes of sympathy and comfort to Jim's family please visit his tribute page at www.fullernaples.com.
