James Lee "Jim" Orange

Jim Orange, age 75, of Grand Rapids, MI, walked through Heaven's gates into the arms of his Savior on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army. He served with the Friendship Ministry at Covenant CRC and was invaluable with Crossroads Ministries. Jim enjoyed playing and watching sports, being a part of his Men's Bible Study, and having Friday morning breakfast with his golfing partners. He was preceded in death by his son, David; father, John Orange; mother and stepfather, Henrietta; and Joe Lanting; brothers, Tom and Gill. Jim will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 1/2 years, Deb; children, Matt (Sara) Orange, Dan (Lisa) Orange, Becky (Jon) Hillis; grandchildren, Anna (Tanner), Kalli (Shawn), Rachel, Matthew, Austin, Alexa, Jaylen, Bella, Johnny (Brittany), Jesse (Emma); great-grandchildren, Henry, Lucas, Westley, Scottie; brother, Bob (Marian) Orange; sister, Mary (Ken) Koppenol; sister-in-law, Barb Orange, Jane (Tom) Vander Hyde; step-siblings, Marv (Norma) Lanting, Pat (Steve) Herrema; many nieces, and nephews. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, January 29, from 6 - 8 PM at Friendship CRC. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, January 30, at Friendship Christian Reformed Church, 190 100th St. SE, Byron Center, 49315, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service from 10 - 11 AM. Rev. Tim Holwerda will officiate. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery.
