James Crawford Orr Jr.

James Crawford Orr Jr, 90, went Home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2025. He was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Jim was drafted into the U. S. Army, where he served 4 years. After his military service he worked at Babcock & Wilcox as a draftsman, retiring after 42 years of service. A faithful member of Grace Baptist Church, Jim served as a Sunday School Teacher, and along with his wife served in the Senior Saints Ministry. His joys over the years included traveling, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rachel (Smith) Orr. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Orr; children, Russell (Kate) Orr, Terri (Jeff) Charlton, Cheryl (David) Lyons; grandchildren, Rachel (Brian) Steiner, Sarah (Zach) Anderson, Kristina (Tim) Nutt, Michael Lyons; great grandchildren, Brynlee, Brooklynn and Blake Steiner, Silas, Levi and Harper Anderson, Makayla, Liliana and Ethan Nutt; siblings, Tom (Betty) Orr, Sally (Glen) Bole; many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 704 N. Firestone Blvd., Akron, OH 44306. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jim's name to Grace Baptist Church Bus Ministry.
