James Baskin "Jim" Outen

Mr. James Baskin "Jim" Outen, 62, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at his home. He was born December 16, 1962 in Lancaster, son of the late James Boyd Outen and Mary Robbie Baskin Outen.
Jim was very dedicated to Becky, and his family and friends. He was generous in supporting the community and numerous charities. Jim had a big heart, he was caring, considerate, thoughtful and very much a gentleman. His character exceeded his size, and he was a big Teddy Bear. To know Jim was to love him on certain days! Jim enjoyed playing sports as a young man. He loved the Carolina Gamecocks and started attending ballgames at the age of 7 years old. Jim was quick-witted and a jokester and was good at convincing people of unbelievable situations and events. He loved to play cards and cribbage as long as he was winning!
An informal drop-in to celebrate the life of Jim will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at their home, 1560 Camp Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.
Mr. Outen is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rebecca "Becky" Phillips Outen of Lancaster; two sisters, Patricia Outen Goldie (Stephen) of Pendleton, SC and Pamela Outen Cook (Charles) of Rock Hill; six nieces and nephews, Julia Goldie Day (Ben), Anna Goldie Davis (Clayton), Aaron Drew Goldie, Sr. (Beth), Marianne Cook, Sally Cook and Caroline Cook; 8 great-nieces and nephews; Jasper Day, Barak Day, Jillian Day, Tyler Davis, Jackson Davis, Aaron Goldie, Jr., Jacob Goldie and Isaac Goldie; sister-in-law, Donna Phillips Parsons (George); nieces and nephews, Thomas "Tommy" Anderson and Megan Anderson; great-nieces, Alaina Anderson and Kensly Anderson; and "Our Friend Fam".
