Ken Parker was there for me at an important time in my life. I was an adolescent with ADD, anxiety issues, and low self esteem. He recognized my potential for public speaking and encouraged me through tutoring and providing opportunities to participate in speech contests and other public speaking engagements. Those experiences gave me confidence and a sense of purpose that influenced my choice to study communication in college and then build a career in education. His involvement as a teacher guided me to become a teacher and, eventually, to support and train other teachers.

I think he made me laugh every single day I was in his classroom! He was the best teacher I had in middle school! Always smiling and laughing that contagious laugh!
