James Parker Obituary

James Emerson Parker

June 17, 1948 - October 20, 2025

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Emerson Parker, 77, who departed this life peacefully on October 20, 2025, at his home in Oak Harbor, OH.

Born on June 17, 1948, in Charleston, WV, James lived a full life defined by hard work and generosity. He was a man of integrity and principle, whose quiet strength and warm heart left an enduring impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

James spent most of his early years in Toledo, Ohio, before settling in Helena, and later, Oak Harbor, where he worked as a machinist for the former Brush Wellman Company (now Materion) for 36 years until his retirement in 2015. Beyond his professional life, James found great joy in the simple, rugged pleasures that reflected his character. He was an avid outdoorsman with a lifelong passion for shooting sports and cherished the many loyal dogs who faithfully stood by his side. James appreciated the "manly things" in life - hard work, good craftsmanship, and the satisfaction of doing things the right way - all while living with the straightforward honesty that defined who he was.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Parker; children, Ashley Flickinger, of Toledo; and Ryan and Alexa Parker, of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Brenan, Ridley, Ty James, and Taytum; great-granddaughter, Elliana; sibling, Susie Pusecker, of Columbus; brothers-in-law, Terry Wiechman, Randy Wiechman, and Mark Wiechman; and father-in-law, Virgil Wiechman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ethelyn (Dean) Parker; sister, Anne Wynser; brother, Allan Parker; and granddaughter, Taylor Koulouris.

A Celebration of James's Life will begin at 4 p.m., on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, 301 N. Locust St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449, where the family will receive friends and family beginning at 2 p.m., until the time of the Service. A reception lunch/gathering will follow the Service at the Kozy Corners Restaurant, 501 W Oak St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.

Family and friends are warmly invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing the stories, laughter, and moments that have given us the cherished memories we will forever hold close to our hearts.
