Mr. James Robert Parsells

James Robert Parsells, 61, of Greenbelt, Maryland, passed away on March 5, 2025. Born on March 13, 1963, in Syracuse, New York, Robert graduated from Parkdale High School in 1981. He built a dedicated career as a fiber optic cable installer and trainer, contributing his expertise to various government agencies over the years.
Beyond his professional work, Robert had a deep passion for model railroading, and was an enthusiastic fan of Washington sports teams, especially the Capitals which was a passion he shared with his children. He also loved tabletop games, sharing countless hours of fun and strategy with friends and family.
Robert is survived by his children, James D. Parsells II and Jessica B. Parsells; his sisters, Cynthia Martinez (Lawrence), Julie Sullivan (Sean), and Jennifer Forbes (Anthony). He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Paige Parsells, and his parents, James and Marjorie Parsells.
Robert will be remembered for his warmth, his love of family, and the joy he found in his hobbies. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished by those who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 10 AM to 11 AM at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a memorial service will follow at 11 AM.
