James Franklin Pease

June 12, 1957 – November 11, 2025

James "Jim" Franklin Pease, 68, of Waldport, Oregon, passed away on November 11, 2025.

Born on June 12, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jim was the son of the late Edward Leon Pease Jr. and Myrtle Anne DuBose Pease. He grew up in Linthicum, Maryland, attending Overlook Elementary, Lindale Middle School, and Andover High School. He went on to further his education at Anne Arundel Community College and graduated from Frostburg State University in 1987 with a B.S. in English. Throughout his career, Jim was known for his work in sales and as a school photographer.

Jim was, above all else, a character who always knew how to make you smile. A lover of J.R.R. Tolkien, fantasy, and comic books, he once mused about writing a book himself; instead, he dedicated his time to bringing laughter to those around him. For Jim, a devout Christian, faith was the cornerstone of his life. In his later years, he found joy teaching local kids to fish at the fishing derby in Waldport Bay, where he resided until his passing. Jim had a way of lighting up a room, and he will be deeply missed.

Jim is survived by his brother, Edward L. Pease III; and his sisters, Terry Pease DeVore and Alice Pease Ford. He is also lovingly remembered by his nephew, Edward L. "Buddy" Pease IV; nephew, Austin Ford; and nieces, Amanda Ford, Ashley Ford, and Lauren Ford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Myrtle, and his nephew, Ricky Ford.

Jim's ashes were laid to rest in the waters of Waldport Bay, Oregon. Due to the family residing in various locations across the East Coast, no formal memorial service is currently scheduled.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to a charity of their choice in Jim's name.
