James "Perk" Perkins, age 78, of Healdton, Oklahoma, passed away on June 22, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 11, 1946, to the late J.C. Perkins, Sr., and Hassie Deleta (Jackson) Perkins in Cornish, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Rubottom Cemetery, with Rev. Dan Stewart officiating. The services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling, Oklahoma.
James was raised in Ringling, where he attended school. He served honorably in the United States Army for two years. He married Rhonda Jean Mays, and together they established their home in Healdton. James dedicated 32 years of his career to Uniroyal/Michelin as a tire builder, followed by 15 years with Austin Cattle Company, from which he retired two years ago.
A passionate motorcycle enthusiast, James cherished riding, especially on trips to Sturgis and Colorado. He also took great joy in attending his grandchildren's activities, fostering deep bonds with his family.
James is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Leck, Don, Bill, and J.C., Jr. Perkins; sister Mary Ellen; and son Billy Sullivan.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda; children Brent Perkins and wife Valerie, Kelly Perkins, and Shelly Perkins; sisters June Jett, JoAnn Winton, Clara Henry, and Laverne Waymire; and a host of grandchildren including Mayson Sullivan, Aden Turpin, KJ Perkins, Sutton James Idleman, Brandon Perkins, Katelyn Perkins, Jessalee Leggins, Marty Keith Firestone, Taylor Morgan, and Elijah Pacheco, along with many other family and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be Rick Branch, Dennis "Poncho" Hawkins, Jarrett Mays, KJ Perkins, Jade Thompson, and Aden Turpin, with Clint Hartman and Colby VanBuskirk serving as honorary bearers.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday evening, June 24, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
