James L. (Jim) Perry

James L. "Jim" Perry, 83, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Born in Payne, Ohio, Jim was the son of the late Noel and Florence Perry. Jim was a Paratrooper in the Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Jim Perry's Auto Haus for several years and continued in the automotive industry throughout his career. Jim served as a Baer Field Firefighter "Crash and Guard." He and his family enjoyed traveling around the country doing Civil War Reenactments. Jim was a pilot and had a special love for aviation. His other hobbies include: model planes and trains, shooting, camping, building dune buggies and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Janet Perry of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Jeanne E. (Michael) Mueller of North Webster, IN; daughter, Judith M. (Anthony) Stewart of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Joan L. (Gabriel) Ruiz of San Antonio, TX; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings: Joseph (Sherry) Perry, Kathleen Ule, Rebecca Perry, and Susan (Robert) Dirig. James was preceded in death by his siblings, Shirley Riley, Barbara Thompson, Dennis Perry, William Perry, Elizabeth Disher, and Patricia Dirig. Service is 11:00 am, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with visitation one hour prior. Calling at D. O.
